ATT lured me into getting a connection by offering me rewards if I take up the internet connection with them when I was shopping around after moving into a new home. I chose virtual reward when I received an email asking me to claim. I got a virtual card and when I chose to use it towards my ATT internal bill payment, I started to get error as invalid payment method. I tried different payment methods and nothing worked. I logged into ATT reward center to manage my reward card and it said invalid card. I reached out to the number they gave on the portal- 800-288-9983. It always takes forever to connect to an agent. After the long long wait agent keeps singing the same song. "the virtual reward is valid but not sure what is wrong and transfers to a supervisor and the supervisor says there is nothing he is able to do". This is all scam luring customers with rewards and everything after that is the drama that ATT plays with the customers. I called this number several several times and it just takes your entire day without getting no where.

We want to make sure you're able to use your reward card, @hemasripalvai!

You may want to check the balance of your card if you haven't already. If it shows up as the full amount but still doesn't work, you'll need to call 800-288-9983 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (CST), Monday through Friday for further assistance.

If you have any other questions, just let us know. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

Hello Raiden, AT&T Community Specialist

You may want to read my post again and again until you understand. It seems like none of the ATT employees are trained to even read what customers are venting their frustration about. you have a standard message that you copy and paste to every customer. This is the scam that I am talking about that ATT is employing.Wow!

Same. I have tried for weeks to use the Virtual Reward Account card from ATT. Amazon, Lowes... every place I have tried has been rejected. I was lured also. Reward card is a scam. I have tried to call 800 288 9983 for days, no one ever answers.

1000% agree. I was promised 700 in reward cards - received two 200 in mail and was told TWICE that I had to wait until 8/29 to get the remaining 300. I called a week later, customer service rep only saw 100, I asked for a supervisor and she told me I GOT ENOUGH REWARDS and refused to give me any additional, including the 100 the previous person told me she saw. I asked for her supervisor, she told me there was no one else to speak to. Her name is Vivienne, employee id 55694 and she must have the last name of ATT REWARDS as she refused to give me her managers name or transfer me. This is a scam to get you to sign up for internet. I was given a credit by the internet team supervisor at ATT and as soon as its applied I'm cancelling the cell, directtv stream and internet. All because of Vivienne. Also - the two 200 reward cards? Impossible to use. can't check balances. Total waste. There are too many options out here to endure subpar service and lies.

Has anyone ever talked to a person using the AT&T rewards phone number? How long did you have to wait? I've been waiting for an hour and 22 minutes so far. The website has a "chat" option, but after you enter all the information it asks for, it says chat isn't available right now and closes the window. It's very frustrating. How can I talk to someone to get my issues resolved?

We're sorry for the long wait times for the Reward Center, SVonATandT.

They are the department that you'll need to speak with to discuss inquiries about AT&T rewards. If there is any other aspect of your service that you need assistance with, let us know.

Thank you for visiting the AT&T Community Forums.

I was unable to activate my card on the website. Tried in several times on Firefox, Edge, and Chrome. It either tells me the information I put in is wrong or I get blocked my Cloudflare because it thinks I am spamming or hacking from trying so many times. Luckily I was able to call the number to get it activated, at least that's what it says. When I try to buy something I guess I'll know for sure. Way to build confidence AT&T! All the Visa gift cards I've had, this is the only one that is a hassle to activate and the only difference is AT&T is involved. If you don't want people to have gift cards then simply quit offering them otherwise have systems in place that work. This is one of many recent terrible business practices I have dealt with on the part of AT&T lately. So bad I have considered T-Mobile and/or Xfinity. That's bad!

Have had four cards from AT&T. NONE of them has ever been recognized on the rewards website. I can't activate them, check balances, nothing useful whatsoever using the website. Was able to activate over the phone and can use them wherever they still accept magnetic strip cards as opposed to chip & pin terminals. Walmart has rejected them every time for some reason but successful elsewhere. Would love to see a record of expenses. Phone call is not much use for this and website as mentioned is GARBAGE.

There's fundamentally a problem with the website, even to this day. The websitealways reports that the CAPTCHA value is invalid. There's no CAPTCHA input on the site, but you inspect the site, there's a hidden CAPTCHA value

<input type="hidden" name="IntegrityCheck" value="40572679b4b4e0fbe5fbf972f35dc72e" url="/register" id="IntegrityCheck">

This isn't something a user can populate since it's not user visible, but it's obviouslynot valid. I was able to use the phone number to activate the card, but even that was a nightmare. You literally cannot take a half-second in between inputting digits or it will assume you're done. The typical pattern for this kind of phone based input is to wait for the pound sign.

Regardless of how absolutely garbage this platform is, even after activating it, no store (online or in person) has accepted it. Secondarily, it expires less than 6 months after I received it. I'm going to try to use the card today in an ATM and just withdraw the money, but if that doesn't work it's going to be ATT talking with my lawyer. This is a violation of the Robinson-Patman Act as blatant bait-and-switch / false advertisem*nt. Especially during a sales cycle, this will be an easy (Edited per community guidelines) to win.
